While reading the online version of The New York Times earlier today, I came across this article regarding yet another new development in the whole Michael Jackson child molestation controversy.

http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/national/AP-Michael-Jackson.html

Though I have my views and opinions, I'm interested in finding out what everyone else thinks about this whole situation. What are your thoughts and opinions?

Inquiring minds want to know...

He's guilty i believe, he paid off the last kid he molested so he would keep quiet, the cops got to this kid before Jacko had a chance to pay him off. If youre innocent, you dont pay someone off you fight to clear your name.

Ah... sorry, MASAMUNE. I forgot I was logged on to the site when I copied that link. Here, I'll post the article itself:

Detectives search Michael Jackson's Neverland ranch again

LOS OLIVOS, Calif. (AP) — Sheriff's investigators with a new search warrant raided Michael Jackson's Neverland estate again Friday, just weeks before the pop star is scheduled to go on trial on charges of child molestation.

Authorities would not say why they returned more than a year after dozens of investigators first raided the storybook estate while they were still drawing up charges against Jackson.

In a statement, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department said only that the search was "part of an ongoing criminal investigation." Spokesman Sgt. Chris Pappas said investigators entered Neverland at 9 a.m. and remained there hours later.

Jackson attorney Thomas Mesereau Jr. had no comment.

Attorneys on both sides of the case are barred from commenting by a court gag order.

Jackson was leaving Neverland when the officers arrived, and did not stay around, said a source close to the family, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Jackson, 46, was charged in December 2003 with molesting a boy and plying him with alcohol. His trial is set to begin Jan. 31.

A new search so late in the proceedings is very unusual, said a former federal prosecutor who has been following the case.

"It may mean that the witnesses they are preparing for trial now are remembering things at the ranch that they did not mention before," said Laurie Levenson, a professor at Loyola Law School. "They may want to follow up on how certain things looked."

However, she said the search could also be connected to a dispute that has been going on between the prosecution and defense over the sharing of evidence. The defense has been resisting turning over material to the prosecution.

Levenson said if the search yields any physical evidence, it could be of dubious value. "At this stage, if they found anything, if I were Jackson's folks I'd say it was planted. So I'm not so convinced how valuable this would be," she said.

The late-stage search could also help the defense win a delay, Levenson suggested. "How do you go to trial in a case when they are still serving search warrants?" she said.

Neverland, set amid the emerald hills and horse ranches about 100 miles northwest of Los Angeles, was first searched in November 2003. At least 60 investigators from the Sheriff's Department and district attorney's office took part.

The theme park-like estate has a mansion, zoo, bumper cars, a merry-go-round and Ferris wheel. Jackson hosted many children's parties there.

"Heal the World," Michael? I prefer another saying... "Physician, heal thyself."

That man is likely guilty as guilty can be. There's a pattern here, and his credibility is SHOT. Sure, people will say it's extortion, etc. But without merits and evidence, prosecutors don't just raid the homes of mega-stars like Jackson "fishing" on vague aspersions and claims. There's something to all of this... I guess we'll see what happens at trial...

Thriller was such a good album :(

...more to do with Quincy Jones, I think...It would not have been what it was w/o MJ, but it wouldn't have been anything w/o QJ... :2 cents:

I'm amazed anyone would still let their kids go over to play at Jacko's house.

lol... exactly.

Who's more at fault? Jackson... or the parents who seemingly ignore and disregard the ramifications of what has already been insinuated and inferred?

Would you, as a parent, allow your children to be alone with an individual - particularly an individual as high profile as Michael Jackson - whose identity, morals, and sexual proclivities are being met with skepticism and are being called in to question? Where does common sense and reasonable caution come into play? Shouldn't the parents assume part of the blame... aren't they just as guilty of endangerment?

Doesn't his prior actions and comments indicate a certain behavorial pattern? Granted, we are judging a man based upon rampant media reports, but nonetheless, doesn't his prior behavorial history show certain elements of pyschological dysfunction? Should we continue to trust and adore a celebrity who is so ignorant of his stature - and the general sense of utter adoration his fans have of him - that he DANGLES his newborn son off of a balcony? Or... is he so astute at manipulating the media - and us - that his ego has grown so enormous over the years, he's developed a sense of being an "untouchable" (i.e., I'm Michael Jackson and I'm adored by millions of people... I'll never be convicted of any wrongdoing.)

Hmmmm.... food for thought!

Share your insights and comments!

Jacko's guilt is so obvious to us that I think it's easy to forget that many, many, of his fans - particularly his black fans - still believe he's innocent.

That is so very true, parker...

Unfortunately, it's those very fans - young and old alike - who will have to deal with the images of a fallen idol if he is ever found guilty of the alleged crimes. It's not right. People idolize him... and he takes advantage of that adoration at every opportunity. Call me jaded and cynical... I stand firm behind my disgust and derision of Michael Jackson.

It just goes to further shore up my point about his being an excellent media manipulator. Eventually his ego will catch up to him...

Remember that old saying: Give a fool enough rope and he'll eventually hang himself.

I don't know which is more shocking.. His fingerprints and those of his accuser on a mag...
Or the fact that Jacko actually looks at porn mags...Shocking!
