These shows involve females leads who are not detectives, but find themselves solving mysteries and crimes with their junior partner. They are very smart but their somewhat odd demeanour causes them to have difficulty working with others. Each episode, or dual episode, of these shows has them solving a different mystery. Tomodachi Game
They’re actually very similar when you look into it. Blue Lock and Tomodachi Game are both competition-based anime set in a controversial project setting ran by an eccentric leader. They develop the characters and story through the same themes – teamwork, ethics, and above all else, friendship and betrayal. Isagi and Yuuichi are both similar protagonists in the way they both develop into selfish and “evil” characters to rise to the top. The rest of the cast does too, but it’s most prominent in them. Their monologues are also similar. And when you think about, you can consider Blue Lock as a death game, only except your soccer career is at stake instead of your life, which the anime shows can be just as threatening.

This is self-explanatory; both are sports anime and have good plots. But watch Blue Lock first and then Haikyuu because it's like watching gold then turning into diamond. Haikyuu is really good because the creator doesn't always glaze the main characters like other animes. It shows the development of the main characters and showing how they beat the people better than them. But sometimes its just annoying how the creator makes Karasuno and the opposing team have points back to back making the episode longer.

Kaijuu 8-gou
+Both shows follow the story of a group of characters from a bigger organization that fights against unknown monsters. +The main character is considerably weak in comparison and has to fight with cunning and strategy, but not strength, against his opponents. +Also, they hide a secret related to using the power of their enemies against themselves. (Spoiler) In the case of Kafka, is his capacity to turn into a kaiju, and Osamu, the neighbor origin of Kuga and Hyuse, their most powerful members of his team. +Some weapons and abilities in both shows are kinda similar, also fight styles and classes, is even interesting to see how both shows portray a similar type of fighter (Kirie and Kikoru for example) +We also have a variety of monsters on both sides, monster-like Neighbors are less prominent in later episodes, but initially, we have a good amount of them. -Well, the animation. Kaijuu 8-gou's quality is just another league, and World Trigger's animation was already limited by its time. -The humor of both shows is completely different, besides a few jokes, World Trigger is usually more suitable for all audiences. -And yup, the monsters and designs in in Kaijuu are far more crude and disgusting, while in World Trigger are way simpler and basic. Not better or worse, just different. Could be shocking watch them, one beside the other. However, I believe World Trigger is along with Fire Force! The must-watch if liked Kaijuu 8-gou. Give it a try, boys!

Gintama
A perpetually penniless duo/trio taking any job that might keep them going (even those they initially refuse), usually ending up hungrier than before. A radical underground group plotting world domination/destruction. A colorful cast including: - chill, debauched but secretly super strong mc called xxx~chan by his partners and demon/devil by his enemies (Gintoki/Ban) - moron old friend known for his sunglasses and laughter (Tatsuma/Haruki) - girlboss in a chinese outfit (Kagura/Himiko) - wise older bartender-owner (Otose/Paul) - feminine sidekick with unexpected muscle (Otae/Natsumi) - long-haired pretty boy who sometimes gets mistaken for a girl or dresses as one (Katsura/Kazuki) - grandpa knowledgeable with machines (Gengai/Gensui) plus extravagant villains, crazy extras... and monkeys. Most - or all - of which taking place in the notorious Shinjuku/Kabukichou. Action and comedy are their prominent genres, although the mood may swing from silly to serious in the very same scene/episode. Both are adapted from weekly shounen manga - one published in Jump, the other in Magazine - and have all the typical tropes of the demographic, from the mini-arcs and tragic past to the battles and dialogues. GetBackers is older than Gintama, so it was likely an 'inspiration' for Yorozuya's antics; however, it is far less long, random and wacky, and lacks aliens, otaku references and toilet humour.

Anime: Buddy Daddies
...then you might like
Buddy Daddies
Blonde dumbass with secret strength/skill. Badass brunette slayer with a softer side. Living and working together like perfectly heterosexual partners. Merging action and comedy, although with a gap of twenty years, both series lean on themes of redemption, former selves, friendship and non-blood related family, adding drama into the picture. The two leads appear like a silly sit-com duo (when they aren't obliterating foes), but hide a tragic history, and actually help those in need even when they have no obligation or compensation. Moreover: both Ban and Kazuki are - supposedly - womanizers; both have a wise older bar owner/friend whom they can rely on for missions or advice; both meet a girl who needs their aid in the very first episode and will become a regular right after. These shows share a simple plot and some nice cheesiness, like a meeting point between anime tropes and american buddy comedies, and, despite their titles might say otherwise, Get Backers has a lot more fujo bait and BL subtext (including a canonical gay couple) than Buddy Daddies. The former is longer but quite fun if you don't mind super powers and wonky animation, the latter has lots of cute slice of life bits if you tolerate hyperactive animated children.

Both shows explores the fragility of life & mortality of the people and finding the joys of life through their experiences. They are also given a mission to passively collect a form of power that derives from an intense emotional stimuli, which forms the basis of their necessity to survive. To Your Eternity serves as an antithesis to Once Upon a Witch's Death where one has an almost immortal lifespan whereas the other has an actual limited amount of time remaining, yet it still follows the same route of appreciating everyone else's mortality and their plight. They both have their comedic moments (some more so than the other) but also have their own fair share of an emotionally charged narrative.

The daily lives of a cheerful blonde and his gloomy black-haired friend, filled with gags, good food, little girls, and totally straight bromance moments. Tatsumi and Kazuki excel at taking care of the house and cooking tasty dishes, which their fascinating but lazy roommates love to eat. Moreover, while Wakasa understandably lives in a bathtub, Rei enjoys sleeping in one. The main difference is Merman having far shorter episodes and a cast of mostly non-human creatures, and Daddies being crime-centered as well as more dramatic. The former also hints strongly at - and makes fun of - BL & harem tropes. They share simple but unexpectedly wholesome stories with solid art/animation and endearing characters; even if you usually do not enjoy sit-coms or odd couple scenarios, both are serotonin boosters highly recommended after a stressful day.

Firstly, I’d like to say that the settings are very different : Lazarus is a dystopian sci-fi, while Cowboy Bebop is a space opera. However, both anime share similar vibes, with comparable types of combat (acrobatic and martial arts). The characters are often shown with simple but striking colors, giving each of them a distinct visual identity. Both anime also feature jazz music in their soundtracks, and you can feel the influence of American culture in the buildings, the characters, and the overall aesthetic. That’s probably because both shows are directed by Shinichirou Watanabe, who’s known for blending music, mood, and stylish visuals in a unique way. I’m sure there are other similarities to be found, since only 2 eps are out while I'm writing. Anyway, I’m really happy to see Shinichirou Watanabe working on an anime with such great potential.

Both are anthology episodes and about men doing silly things. Obey me is based on a game, but it's not important to the "plot". I think both are very similar, even the comedy and animation.

Both animes are about Saints that are struggling because of an evil Prince's actions. Both Saints have their powers underestimated and are initially mistreated by those around them. There's romance in both animes, but the main plot is about their character development and how they get used to their new daily lives, finding people that support them and learning how to be happy.

"Xam'd: Lost Memories" is very, very similar to "Eureka 7" as both are originals made by the same studio (Bones) and largely the same staff. There are innumerable similarities between the two, but to briefly overview: -Rather similar art styles and color pallets, especially in the drawing of the hair, eyes, and shock waves. -The two series both revolve around the themes of war, religious and ethnic discrimination, the dangers of government propaganda, relationships, environmentalism, fanaticism, etc. -Renton/Akiyuki is the brash but well-intentioned protagonists whose dad is a hero. -Eureka/Nakiami is a mysterious girl who has a special connection to the world and at first comes across as emotionless but becomes more expressive as the show goes on. -Ishu is basically a female Holland, and Commander Toujirou is an antagonistic but slightly more sympathetic version of Dewey Novak. -Similar plot structure: protagonist's life is upended when his town is attacked, meets mysterious girl, forced to join band of outlaws flying around on their ship. -Similar fight scenes and choreography, with lots of gravity defying moments, battles in mid-air. -OST of both give off youthful/energetic vibes. You probably get the idea. "Eureka 7" is more romance themed although "Xam'd: Lost Memories" certainly has its romantic melodrama as well. "Eureka 7" is also a mecha show, while "Xam'd" is more biopunk/transforming in terms of its powers. That said they are incredibly similar to one another, and if the themes and animation of one of the anime resonated with you, the other may be to your liking as well.

The protagonist of Villainess Level 99, Yumiella Dolkness, and Philia are deadpan girls, who are seen only as tools by their parents to increase their noble status and hated by most of those around them for seemingly no reason. Yumiella and Phila are eventually seen by members of royalty to be very powerful people and important to the protection of their nations. In addition to being deadpan, both girls also lack social awareness, and when they are confused by a situation, they are animated in a cute, confused chibi style.

Both series take a ridiculous approach to ninja life, but where Ninja to Koroshiya keeps things dry and deadpan, Shinobuden cranks the insanity to 11 with hyperactive humor, fourth-wall breaks, and relentless gags. The pervy floating orb Onsokumaru replaces Ninja to Koroshiya’s assassin-ninja dynamic with nonstop sexual jokes, slapstick, and surreal "ninja training" that makes no sense.

Mono
JK's within CGDCT shows focusing on photography. They feature girls on a journey to discover more within photography which in turn journeying within themselves too as people. Despite the similarities with everyday slice of life festivities in taking pictures alongside going to school, they are different in overall feel where Tamayura is a lot more peaceful and quaint compared to the hyperactiveness of Mono and within Tamayura, photography is mainly done by one of the characters (until later on within the series) focusing on the use of older traditional cameras whereas photography in Mono is generally done by the club members with very modern devices. Mono tends to be a lot more moe with its character design with it being a Manga Time Kirara adapted series whereas Tamayura is a bit more natural to real life with its design, tho both have their extremely cute moe bits too as well as a cute fluffy cat mascot bringing everyone together. Mono is generally just a fun time to be had with photography as a way of learning new things in the topic and yourself, being this very casual fun relaxing series to watch, whereas Tamayura has a slight bit more seriousness in plot with photography as a way of overcoming grief of loss and discovering your new self with the people you meet, the journeys you go on, and coming to terms with your past. Mono will make you smile and laugh and although Tamayura does the same too, will also make you cry.

Wow, two Studio GoHands shows. Both have very similar animation, if you like this style of animation it's essentially GoHands signature. Outside of this, Momentary Lily is easily the worse sibling of the two, however if you enjoyed Hand Shakers while this isn't exactly the same it has certain similar aspects that will scratch the GoHands itch for you. Action is fairly similar in both in terms of animation as well.
