Their mission statement is, "proactively locating people vulnerable to becoming obsessed with public figures prior to their causing any actual harm". Which apparently just means they were created to surveil and harass enemies of the NSW government. They don't investigate actual crimes that have taken place.

As a non-Australian, I was shocked to discover just how corrupt Australia is. And then I realized that it is probably just as corrupt everywhere but most places don't have journalists willing to stick their neck out in the way he has done. The issue is that a lot of the media in Australia (exception being the publicly owned ABC) is owned by the Murdochs, which, let's not mince words here, are very biased towards right-wing causes, and the deputy premier mentioned is a member of the right-wing National Party of Australia.

As an American, my only knowledge of this man was Isaac Butterfield's commentary on him quite a while back. I remember at the time thinking, "So a comedian is being raked over the coals by politicians for being offensive; sounds about right for the absolute state of the world." Isaac clearly didn't do this man justice in his presentation, though; I had no idea the work he was doing was so important - and direly serious. This whole narrative also reminds me of a man named Gary Webb; if you don't know who that is, look him up - but be warned that any news articles you can find about him were intentionally as discrediting as possible. I say "were" because Mr. Webb was found dead with two bullet wounds to the back of his head almost 20 years ago, which was officially ruled to be a "suicide."
Just to put an update here; Jordies has recently taken down the Coronation video because his sources lives were being threatened. Dude kept it up through constant threats and multiple firebombings and has only taken it down now that the people he exposed were able to openly intimidate witnesses without any threat of arrest. Friendlyjordies is out there fighting the good fight and the Australian authorities apparently couldnt give less of a shit
When he was alive and when we lived in NSW in Australia, my father used to work in a pretty high position in the government. When I heard him talk I was baffled with how much corruption and outright incompetence he had to deal with. He helped save a lot of money that was bleeding out (being utterly wasted), and in the end some of the politicians basically tore into each other to be the one to take credit for my father’s work… Only for NSW to “lose” as much as my father had helped save (half a fucking billion dollars) because a deal didn’t “workout” when in reality it was most likely stolen and/or used as fucking payouts in this Nepotism hellhole that is Australian politics and business. Lived there for many years and FUCK is it corrupt!!!
What disgusted me about how the mainstream media covered the Barilaro saga was that they focused on the "racism" allegations thrown from Barilaro but not the corruption allegations from Jordies. Really opened my eyes to how complicit "real journalists" are to corruption.
Like I said in another comment; a lot of the media in Australia is either owned by the Murdoch family, or tends to be biased towards the Liberal/National Party. And for Non-Australians, Liberal Party of Australia is essentially their version of the Conservative/GOP Party.
This exact thing happened I believe in 2018 in Slovakia. A journalist and his girlfriend were executed because he tried to uncover government corruption, no politican was ever held accountable for the two murders. Jan Kuciak & Martina Kušnírová, may they rest in peace.

I used to have teacher in high school grade 11. He was a very chill, cool teacher who made the day better. He was very open about his personal life. One day we asked him about his wife and he said she was a journalist. Fast forward a couple months and we saw him take a very nervous phone call then sprinting out of the door. We heard later that his wife was attacked.
If I had to choose between being stuck in an elevator for 8 hours with a Brony or a mainstream journalist, I’m probably going home that day with an encyclopedic knowledge of Rainbow Dash lore.

The most disturbing thing about the media coverage is that they made SURE to include the address so anyone could find Jordan’s house. EDIT: They mentioned in both articles and reports that he lived "in this Bondi home on Wilga Street", and the footage showed the street number clearly for anyone to put the pieces together. I think we can all agree, that's willfully malicious.

I'm 22 and Australian. I've been subscribed to FJ since ~2013 and his comedy videos were a huge source of joy for my friends and I while we were in high school. As we got older and wiser, of course, we stayed for the journalism. Without him, I don't think most of us in our 20s could even begin to understand what goes on in our country's politics, as it's unfortunately kind of the norm here to be raised to not give a shit and just let people do their jobs, vote who your parents vote for, etc. We owe a lot to him and his team for the work they have been doing. It's difficult, it's confronting and it's dangerous. I'm so glad everyone is physically okay after the firebombing, but I knew it was getting bad when Kristo was thrown down and arrested. These politicians are absolute buffoons, which makes the power they wield all the more terrifying. They're convinced that they're totally untouchable. I truly wish Jordies and his team all the best and hope they find the protection and justice they deserve so they can keep fighting the good fight. God knows how much we need them.

The "gambling company" you refer to isn't a company. It's the thing that literally monitors gambling in NSW, so it's worse than just a company. It sets the rules and regulations, then regularly ignores or breaks them.
Clubs NSW is the company Charlie is referring to, and they definitely aren't involved (y'know, legally) in legislation. They're a private organisation that serves to lobby for the interests of its member clubs, not a legislative/regulatory body.

American here and before this, I had no idea you guys in Australia have to deal with such BS. Right now, we're dealing with some free speech issues - a lot of smooth brains in the US don't even understand how our first Amendment rights work and seem to think a private citizen calling them a dumbass for spewing dumb shit out of their ass is a violation of their right to free speech. A lot of them need to watch Jordies videos to truly understand what being attacked for free speech really means. But, that being said, at least we can (usually) speak out about whatever and not get thugs sic'd on us or our house firebombed... Independent and unbiased journalism has become distressingly rare and exceedingly dangerous. People in power can't stand online scrutiny, in particular, because they just can't control it as effectively (yet) as older media. Videos go viral fast and it's impossible to head off scandal when it's reached that point. The Internet is a treasure trove of information that's been carelessly tossed out there without the slightest inkling that yes, people can and will dig that sh*t up. Never underestimate someone with a stable Internet connection and no fear of speaking the truth. I love Jordies videos and I subscribed immediately.
I was introduced to friendlyjordies after seeing the video about the firebombing. I appreciate the work he's done. He's exposed real corrupt people. Corruption is a monster politicians breed. And sooner or later, it consumes them. People like Barilaro will eventually learn this lesson. And it rarely ends well.

NSW policing doesn't care. These are folks that were actively attacking people at train stations a year ago because the police commissioner wanted to flush out anyone that protested against him.
My dad has been a journalist for rounds 40 years working at 3 different news outlets. He talks about all the time that we need good journalists and how important it is. I want to take after him and report on hard hitting issues that that actually matter when I’m old enough.
This reminds me of a situation that happened a couple of years ago in my home country - Slovakia. Ján Kuciak and his fiance Martina Kušnírová were murdered by a hitman. He was a journalist and has found out that the biggest politicians and the police force were not only corrupt but also involved in human trafficking. This are just the biggest things, but he found out a bunch of things. Although Ján and Martina didn't get justice, I hope that the same thing won't happen in Australia.

I agree. He covers the nsw stuff so well but even when he talks about the real issue of gentrification in Australia through shady government and developer deals. Ruins land with tiny small homes for insane prices and drives locals out. This is happening everywhere and creating short term - long term homelessness. Jordy covers all of this and he seems to be the only one getting beneath the layers unlike other journalists hot takes about the rental crisis or mortgage payments.
I’m from Australia and I’ve known about Jordies for a while, and I’ve known that what he is doing is very important. As a large amount of the other comments from fellow Australians state; he needs to be protected at all costs as there aren’t enough journalists that are legit. As both an Australian and a Friendly Jordies viewer, I thank you for covering this again. Friendly jordies has been pivotal in improving the integrity within our government but doesn't get as large of a following due to the niche that is Australian politics.

As an Australian myself I have been so thankful for FriendlyJordies exposing the corruption in the various levels of politics in our Country and in this case clubs New South Wales. If we can't have people speaking the truth and exposing corruption then we are in a dark place in society.
This is scary. Something similar happened in Las Vegas last year. The state's top newspaper had published a series of articles about an elected official, on how he tormented the employees and played favorites. The series was thoroughly researched by one of the newspaper's most well-established and respected writers. The elected official went over to the reporter's house one morning, disguised as a gardener, and stabbed him to death. He's sitting in jail right now, using delay tactics to drive up the taxpayer cost of an open and shut case. Sad times.

I’m a little late to the party but Jordie’s humor are a very good sort of deflection of all the horrible shit going on. Sometimes you gotta laugh cause if you don’t, you’ll lose it. I really applaud this guy and his inevitable sacrifice for the greater good.

As an American, my only knowledge of this man was Isaac Butterfield's commentary on him quite a while back. I remember at the time thinking, "So a comedian is being raked over the coals by politicians for being offensive; sounds about right for the absolute state of the world." Isaac clearly didn't do this man justice in his presentation, though; I had no idea the work he was doing was so important - and direly serious.
This whole narrative also reminds me of a man named Gary Webb; if you don't know who that is, look him up - but be warned that any news articles you can find about him were intentionally as discrediting as possible.
I say "were" because Mr. Webb was found dead with two bullet wounds to the back of his head almost 20 years ago, which was officially ruled to be a "suicide."

I'm 22 and Australian. I've been subscribed to FJ since ~2013 and his comedy videos were a huge source of joy for my friends and I while we were in high school. As we got older and wiser, of course, we stayed for the journalism. Without him, I don't think most of us in our 20s could even begin to understand what goes on in our country's politics, as it's unfortunately kind of the norm here to be raised to not give a shit and just let people do their jobs, vote who your parents vote for, etc. We owe a lot to him and his team for the work they have been doing. It's difficult, it's confronting and it's dangerous. I'm so glad everyone is physically okay after the firebombing, but I knew it was getting bad when Kristo was thrown down and arrested. These politicians are absolute buffoons, which makes the power they wield all the more terrifying. They're convinced that they're totally untouchable. I truly wish Jordies and his team all the best and hope they find the protection and justice they deserve so they can keep fighting the good fight. God knows how much we need them.

My dad has been a journalist for rounds 40 years working at 3 different news outlets. He talks about all the time that we need good journalists and how important it is. I want to take after him and report on hard hitting issues that that actually matter when I’m old enough.
The main problem I see with real journalists is that they end up either in jail or dead.

This reminds me of a situation that happened a couple of years ago in my home country - Slovakia. Ján Kuciak and his fiance Martina Kušnírová were murdered by a hitman. He was a journalist and has found out that the biggest politicians and the police force were not only corrupt but also involved in human trafficking. This are just the biggest things, but he found out a bunch of things. Although Ján and Martina didn't get justice, I hope that the same thing won't happen in Australia.

Ruins land with tiny small homes for insane prices and drives locals out. This is happening everywhere and creating short term - long term homelessness. Jordy covers all of this and he seems to be the only one getting beneath the layers unlike other journalists hot takes about the rental crisis or mortgage payments.

I’m from Australia and I’ve known about Jordies for a while, and I’ve known that what he is doing is very important. As a large amount of the other comments from fellow Australians state; he needs to be protected at all costs as there aren’t enough journalists that are legit. I’m so glad that Charlie is helping bring more attention to this matter as maybe it can help shed some light on how corrupt the Australian government really is, and maybe something might be done about it.

This is scary. Something similar happened in Las Vegas last year. The state's top newspaper had published a series of articles about an elected official, on how he tormented the employees and played favorites. The series was thoroughly researched by one of the newspaper's most well-established and respected writers. The elected official went over to the reporter's house one morning, disguised as a gardener, and stabbed him to death. He's sitting in jail right now, using delay tactics to drive up the taxpayer cost of an open and shut case. Sad times.
