Hope this is not the symbolic significance that with Adv Mngomezulu 's passing away, it should not mean that justice has gone. This should be a turning point where every person wakes up from their numbness and fight against what the judiciary and the state are doing. I have followed many law cases, watched so many legal movies, but not even once have I seen the judge using language and actions that undermine justice and the pursuit of it the way Judge Ratha and Baloi have done. The belittling comments to the defense counselors, the egoistic attitude Ratha displays, the jumping into the fray to protect a state witness, the snide remarks that support the state, his interrupting meddling to disturb the smooth interrogation of the witness by the defense counselors, his sceptical attitude when an advocate is sick, his winking at the state witness and Baloi giving an innuendo that he has a telepathic understanding with him, Ratha 's constant asking Baloyi for reassurance is sickening. Never seen such nonsense even in fiction. But yet, the people are not holding Ratha the old galoot to account. People are making smattering noises of disapproval, but no real action. But we are led to believe this is South Africa where the people rose against apartheid and injustice many years ago and defeated it. Where are the renowned advocates like Muzi Skhakhane, Zola Majavu, Dali Mpofu, et al, who have imbibed the spirit of Adv Bizos, Adv Mandela,, Adv Moseneke and other icons of the legal fraternity? Rise Mzanzi, rise!!! 🇿🇦
