I prefer the current approach rather than them being friends tbh. They're not meant to be friends. Whichever approach the player chooses to take in relation to Ian and Lena's dynamic, Axel isn't meant to be redeemable and the player shouldn't force him to be because his very character was designed to be an abusive dickhead. And it makes the least sense if Ian and Lena are a couple because "why would you wanna be friends with your girlfriend's abuser?"Yeah now they're enemies regardless of relationship points. Having them being friends could have been an interesting dynamic. Their confrontation at Ivy's birthday party could have been more interesting if they were friends. Would Ian have been able to cool things off on friendlier terms without almost getting into a fight?
