I don't have a really motivation behind my post. My aim was just to let you know what I found on Crissy Moran's site and to discus about this and bring a few to think about it. And I was hoping someone perhaps could some stats or reports about. That's all. I do not do advertisement for the websites on the picture.
But I think the sex industry (which contains for example prostitution as well) has more dark sites than the most other businesses. So perhaps we as consumer have to watch out more what we are consuming.
And to the thing about the sex workers which say, that they were not abused... I think, the most won't say that they were abused if it's so.

You were doing okay until you mentioned Shelley Lubben. I wouldn't piss on her if she were on fire. She is a former performer/now rabid anti porn zealot. She is also a religious whacko who on the outside seems to want to help female sex workers who need it but she is not below harassing people who do not want her "help". She also exaggerates many of her "statistics" and sometimes outright lies about them.
She has only one true agenda and that is to prevent you or anyone else from viewing porn and stopping those who make it.

I agree that people who were abused (not only sexually) should be helped and if I had enough money to spare I'd donate (or if they asked me for other ways to help and I could, I would), but as soon as someone starts lying to me, that person can fuck off...

I don't understand your argument at all. How is my post like that? You haven't explained the analogy, and it isn't at all clear to me. I can't make a counterargument if I can't even understand your argument.
But how can you say "Not buying a product doesn't reduce its profit"? It's precisely because porn is so easily reproducible that its profits depend heavily on the volume of sales. You spend the budget to make a porn film; if only a few copies sell, you've got a huge loss; if a moderate number of copies sell, you've got a small profit; if a lot of copies sell, you've got a large profit.
Your "shelf life" argument seems to rest on the idea that porn producers will be able to sell in the future anything they can't sell today. Even if that's true, it doesn't help today's profits. If you buy less, today's profits go down, and that makes it harder to fund subsequent productions.

well all she does is talk shit about the business, and as far as I know it wasn't because she was ever treated badly by it, it was just after she decided to become a Jesus freak.
Basically I'm making an assumption that religious groups, who have made their stance on sex and pornography very clear, when they talk about this stuff are doing it because they are opposed to those things on religious grounds first and formost, whether or not they have a legitimate reason to offer criticism.
I'm just skeptical about listening to information put out by groups that are obviously biased and trying to push their agendas. there's nothing wrong with promoting your ideas, that's fine, as long as it's up front and honest. But by doing so subvertly and acting like you are just trying to put out objective information or serve a cause other than your own is a bullshit scam and I won't be taken in. It is the mark of a weak position that you can't sell your ideology on it's own merits.

Hell, isn't part of the reason because these kids are exposed to sexual aspects very early, so their own sexual innocence has already been lost? So when it comes to sex, they've gotten more comfortable with those aspects by the time they are 18 than most people?

The industry, at least in the US, is still taboo from the mainstream. When that changes, you will see a change in many aspects.
I'm not going to apologize for being a man, loving erotica and respecting women. My wife feels the same as a woman, who loves erotica, and respects men. The more respect and caring we have in the industry, especially coming from paying consumers, the more it will be.
But if you leave it taboo and forbidden in normal thought, the more it will only be driven by others who have these limited agendas.
Erotica behavior is natural. It should not be shunned. It's a sign if immaturity, not shame. Just because some people use it for their own, violent pleasures does not mean pornography itself is built on violence.

Yup. Europeans are generally more open minded about everything that has to do with sex and the sex industry (generally does not mean every single person... The Holy See is part of Europe) and indeed, you don't hear such stories (or at least much less, you do hear about women being forced into prostitution etc, but still even that's less common than in the US) from this side of the ocean.

anyway i don't think the fact that as adults abused children are choosing to act a certain way is anyone's fault but their own. how many women are in the porn industry versus how many women are abused as children. i'd be really surprised if it made up 1% of the total number of young girls abused. so i agree with many others sentiments: help the children being abused now. the only person that can save an adult is themselves.Similar threads
