Report: Hulk Hogan In Rough Shape Backstage
Hulk Hogan was in noticeable pain last Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
Wrestlers were surprised that he was able to jog backstage at the end of Monday's show because he was struggling to get around backstage because of his recent hip surgery.
Rob Van Dam Says He Knows TNA Wants A Peice Of Him
Rob Van Dam knows TNA wants a piece of him and said once again the "ridiculous never-ending" WWE schedule will play a factor in which company he decides will wrestle for.
Van Dam told Alex Marvez of Scrippsnews.com "I do have some interest right now in what's going on with the big companies. I know (Hulk) Hogan would like to have me. Eventually, (TNA) may start to wear me down and my 'no thanks' will become 'well, maybe.' I have some interest, but I don't know what's going to happen. I don't see myself going back to the full-time, ridiculous never-ending WWE schedule. I couldn't wait to get away from it before."
Aside from the brutal WWE schedule, Van Dam still has sour grapes about how WWE handled the "new" ECW: "WWE destroyed that and made it very symbolic. They wanted everyone to know ECW was dead and this new group happened to be called ECW. That was the last cycle of frustration for me."
Bischoff Trashes The Honky Tonk Man
-- During the State Of TNA Address that Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff gave today, Bischoff shot down rumors that Honky Tonk Man would be coming to TNA, stating that the Honky Tonk Man couldn't draw flies if you rolled him in horses**t. Sorry, but that gets a big LOL from us.
-- Bischoff-Hervey Productions are currently working on another wrestling-related pilot that would film in Florida. Jimmy Hart is also involved in the project.
Ric Flair Not Promoting TNA, Terry's Title Win
-- Ric Flair was on the Charlotte AM radio station WFNZ's "Primetime with the Packman" show. It was reportedly a fine appearance, but Flair came off as uninformed about the TNA product, and never really pushed it.
-- The BBC was in Cariff, UK to tape Rob Terry's Global Championship win over Eric Young.
The Real Reason Matt Morgan Is Not On The UK Tour
Matt Morgan announced on his Twitter (http://twitter.com/tnamattmorgan) that his father underwent successful surgery to remove a brain tumor.
This is the reason that he was not on the TNA tour of the UK.
Beer Money, Inc. Considered Expendable.
-- Beer Money, Inc. — James Storm and Robert Roode — have been expressing their frustration to people backstage after they received word that TNA creative director Vince Russo said he didn't see them as top stars. Actually, Russo said that they were expendable, but the Pro Wrestling Torch notes that he may have been trying to send the outspoken Storm a message.
Storm was said to be very upset with Beer Money, Inc.'s limited role on the live Monday Night iMPACT! on Jan. 4. In one scene, they were shown shaking hands with Ric Flair upon his arrival to the Impact! Zone. Later that night, they were shown selling a beat down from an unidentified assailant.
It should be noted that there is no noticeable friction between the duo and Russo as observers say they get along fine backstage.
WWE's Chris Jericho Blasts Eric Bischoff
More Twitter fun as Chris Jericho responded to Eric Bischoff's statement yesterday:
"Bischoffs right I can't headline in TNA...cos I'm not in my 50s."
Bischoff had said during the State of TNA address on Bubba the Love Sponge's show that he'd like to have Chris Jericho in TNA, but doesn't see him as a headliner.

Really!?
Beer Money Inc, is "expendable" and the Nasty Boys make a comeback?
Hogan will never truly push young talent.
Hogan and Bishoff need to go or TNA will be gone and Vince will own another company. That's probably the reason Hogan is in TNA. To destroy it from within.
That's fucking horrible. Beer Money are my fav current tag team. They are over, are great on the mic, and can wrestle. More than i can about the Nasty Boys...
Roode rolling in Beer Money
TNA superstar Robert Roode is looking to shatter the stereotype that all Canadians are friendly and polite. And even though his countrymen might give him a hero's welcome when the company brings its No Surrender pay-per-view to Oshawa, Ontario, on September 14, he isn't measuring success in the number of cheers he gets, but rather in remaining as part of the company's number one tag team.
"Some people like to cheer us," he conceded to SLAM! Wrestling, "I guess. I think Beer Money (his team with James Storm) has almost a cult following. But we definitely like being heels. We don't perform any differently, but some people who booed each of us as singles guys seem to have taken to us differently as a team. It's just one of those things."
Regardless of whether they're liked or not, Roode's main concern is that Beer Money continue their reign as champions. It's the third time that Roode has worn a Tag Team strap (the first two were the NWA Tag Team titles which he won as part of Team Canada), but that doesn't mean the lustre has faded.
"It's always a big deal when you win any world title in a company like TNA," he said. "I've always been a huge tag team wrestling fan, so to be in the spot I'm in, it's a lot of fun."
Samoa Joe Talks About 'Dead Weight' On The TNA Roster
TNA star Samoa Joe was interviewed by TNA's official website and talked about "dead weight "on the TNA roster. Joe also defended the infamous shoot promo he cut at Turning Point 2007, when he verbally blasted Scott Hall in the middle of the ring for no-showing the event. Joe told TNA interviewer Hermie Sadler:
"It was a statement that needed to be made. This is a company that can't have a lot of dead weight attached to it. You either come here to work or fight or get down or you don't come here at all. For the people that I was speaking about, I made it known I wasn't here to play games and just be a TV star. I'm here for this company to be the very best and for me to be the very best."
Joe's admits that his comments were harsh, but he stands by everything he said and said them because he cares about the company's survival.
"If anything that I said out there you didn't find to be true, then maybe you don't need to be here because everything I said out there I still stand by. I apologized for the tone to some people because they may have taken offense, but at the same time, in their heart of hearts, they knew everything I said out there was absolutely true."
Hogan speaks on facing AJ Styles, Big Show blasted
Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff appeared on Howard 101 on Friday with Bubba The Love Sponge to give "The State of TNA" address.
Thanks to Phil Lions for the following highlights...
On naming talent they could bring from WWE, Hogan says he'd want Cena, Orton and Big Show cause he's never been used right, Bischoff disagrees.
Bischoff on Big Show - "I don't think he's ever been committed. I have a problem with Show. He's always been lazy."
Caller: If you HAD TO fight one guy in TNA who would it be? Hogan: Depends on how full of himself AJ Styles gets.
Hogan said that "inside sources" claim the original plan was for Bret Hart to face Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania.
That is not to say the card was flawless. The incident between Hogan, Sting and WCW management almost sent the entire pay-per-view into a tailspin. As reported in the wrestling media, either Hogan steadfastly refused to 'job' to Sting ever since the Havoc match was booked or Hogan didn't like what Russo and Ferrera had planned for him. In any event, the incident at Havoc will go down as a black eye on the business for some time to come.
Hogan, who had been brutalized by Sting and his pal Lex Luger for weeks on end, was supposed to have a showdown for the WCW World Heavyweight Title at Havoc. Some match it was, if you can call it a match. Hogan's entrance music played. The cameras showed Hogan fans in the crowd for minutes on end stalling for time but The Hulkster didn't show. The producers cut Hogan's theme switching to Sting's. Sting made his entrance. Again, Hogan's music blared over the speakers as red and yellow lights shone on the en trance way.
