Who will be America's next President ?

The DLC controlls the Dems, the religious right has the GOP.
Not good in either case.

If the DNC (not too likely) or RLC (virtually never likely) of either, respectively, then things might change for the better.
Not likely in any case.

Understand Kerry and W. were picked because they were controllable.
Not surprisingly, neither are very bright (yes, Kerry got even worse grades).

Businesses control the DLC and, therefore, the Dems as much as Republicans.
One look at the Clinton administration shows the modern DLC-controlled Democratic party

If the DNC ever gets control back (long gone), I might consider voting for a Dem.
Both Clintons are tight with the DLC and businesses, Hillary even more so than Bill.

Until then, and given the virtual non-existent chance the RLC will get any say in the GOP, I find myself siding with the Libertarian party 75% of the time.

America´s next pres???

DAVID CHAPELLE!!!

BIAAAAA!!! :) :) :)

Perhaps Schwarzie or Jiulianni.

If the Dems can actually see the potential and not divide themselves as a party then Hillary Clinton will be president and her vice will be Barrack Obama. Those two together will more than likely take it in a landslide.

The Republicans have to things going against them.
1.) Bush is killing the party. Most of them have seen this now and are distancing themselves from him and those who have any ambitions at all for the presidency are making it a point to voice the things they did NOT do to support the Bush administration, particularly the Iraq "situation".
2.) There are no strong Republican candidates with the name recognition of Clinton. The only ones which are even remotely close are Rudy Gulliani and John McCain, neither of which are strong conservative Republicans.

If the next election is based on moderate candidates then the Republicans might have something in those two, but a lot of Conservatives may give their votes to a Libertarian candidate just to hold onto their ideals... which will likely hurt the Republicans even more.

Yep... odds are it'll be Hillary in 08. :weeping:

Three lullabies in an ancient tongue
No chance of a republican? Don't be so sure my friend. BNF hit the nail on the head about money. Who has the most money in this country still? Republicans. Who still has the moral majority on their side? Republicans. And they are still way better at politics too (especially in the Presidential race), compared to the Democrats.

Plus, the Democrats have yet to put up a candidate people will actually vote for. Obama? - not likely.

KFD....Unless Bush's fortunes in Iraq change a great deal in the next 2 years, yes I see him dragging the party down to defeat again in 2008. Under your logic, republicans should win the presidency each time. Hasn't proven to be true. They had more money in this past congressional election as well and look what happened. Smarter at politics? Dean's broad-based mainstream strategy destroyed them in November (what Bush called a "thumpin'", remember?). Moral majority? If you are referring to right-wing religious fundamentalists, anti-choice zealots and the like....I agree, that's part of the republican base. Exit polls in November showed that many of the same people who voted for Bush on "moral" grounds in 2004 voted against the republicans in 2006 because they felt betrayed (Tom DeLay, Jack Abramoff, Mark Foley, etc).

Only way the republicans win in 2008 is if the democrats fuck up so bad that they allow them to. Now that, my friend, is a whole other topic. :D

I dont care who gets in this time around as long as its not Hilary Clinton. she would fuck up the U.S more then it already is. we need someone who gets us out of Iraq and tax cuts for the middle class not the rich..

republican party, democratic party, independent party, green party, tea party, bukkake party, it doesnt matter. in the end, they are all the same. there will always be something wrong with the system.

I agree, no party is for the people anymore. Just for themselves, to line their pockets and the glory. So, in the long run it doesn't matter. :(

To a degree. It's come down to what the party traditionally represents/stands for. On fundamentally simple issues to pick a side on they are polar opposites... issues like gun control, abortion, to an extent religion, basic freedoms, etc...

It's the issues where they don't take a side on for fear of losing votes like immigration that shows they are more concerned for their careers than their constituents.

I may just be really unaware of how the politicians in my own country really are, but I think that if you're right, then that's unbelieveably sad. However much I may disagree with certain politicians views and ideology, I still have some faith that they will at least try to create a better society through their actions.

I can't pretend to be an expert when it comes to US politics, and I honestly don't know who would be best suited as president. That Obame guy seemed rather sympathetic when I saw him on TV, but as much as I'd like to see an afro-american as the next president, I hope that the best suited candidate is the one who will win.

Easy answer.

I find it comical that people here are convinced Hillary Clinton will win the Dem nom and become our First Woman Pres. How "broad"-minded of you all...nyuk nyuk nyuk...

I feel our country is ready for a woman president. Hillary won't be the one to do it.

The Dems strongest ticket will be John Edwards for Pres and Barack Obama for V.P.

Barack Obama may have a ton of charisma but he has zero experience. Edwards will give the world a boner because he's smart and handsome. The World will forget about the mistakes of Bush-Cheney-BigOil-Halliburton because John Edwards is so damn good looking.

The only US office you can't hold if you're not natively born here ...

No matter how much he wants it, Arnie is not US born - meaning he cannot hold the office.
Yep, it's the only US office you can't hold if you are not natively born here, the US Executive.
That's been since Day 1 in the Constitution, and the only limitation.

We've had plenty of 1st generation born Americans run and be elected.
But we'll never have anyone who wasn't born here become President.

The DLC will probably have some say in that.
Dean was killed by the DLC, not the right.

1.) Bush is killing the party. Most of them have seen this now and are distancing themselves from him and those who have any ambitions at all for the presidency are making it a point to voice the things they did NOT do to support the Bush administration, particularly the Iraq "situation".
And most democrats distanced them from Clinton in 1998+ too.
I distinctly remember several Democratic Congressmen referring to the failed policy in North Korea then. ;)
2.) There are no strong Republican candidates with the name recognition of Clinton. The only ones which are even remotely close are Rudy Gulliani and John McCain, neither of which are strong conservative Republicans.
McCain is not who he once was.
They picked W. because he could be controlled, McCain could not.
Now McCain can be controlled, which is not a good thing.
If the next election is based on moderate candidates then the Republicans might have something in those two, but a lot of Conservatives may give their votes to a Libertarian candidate just to hold onto their ideals... which will likely hurt the Republicans even more.
I vote my conscience.
If Bednarik runs again, I'm voting for him.
I dont care who gets in this time around as long as its not Hilary Clinton. she would fuck up the U.S more then it already is. we need someone who gets us out of Iraq and tax cuts for the middle class not the rich..
The Clintons are so in-bed with big business it's not even funny.
At the same time, a Hillary Executive with Republican Congress wouldn't be a bad thing.
Barack Obama may have a ton of charisma but he has zero experience.
Experience in politics is overrated.
Leadership doesn't come from experience in politics, it comes from experience in leadership.
That's why I voted Perot in 1992.
I have no judgement on Barack at this time, but it's going to take a lot to sway me from Bednarik.
