Episode 14: Nazi SS vs. Viet Cong
i don't care what the show will say, the SS would win that one hands down. the Viet Cong were ruthless and could hide in the jungle, but the SS were brutal and were masters of the traditional battle field.

SWAT beat out GSG 9.
I don't like how the tests are carried out by just a couple "experts" determining which weapon is better. In my personal opinion for this episode, SWAT ran away with all the weapons over the GSG 9, and it shouldn't have even been a contest. The computer analysis thing was like SWAT 525 and GSG 9 475 or something. I would have scored it more like 800-200 in favor of SWAT.
Pretty inaccurate and insufficient testing really, guess that's why it's really just entertainment. Definitely enjoy this show though.

Not me apparently, but they had the wimpier samurai historian expert against the spartan guy who was the military trained professional. At one point, they had the samurai rep swing the kenabo against the spartan shield. Not that it would've made a huge difference, but seeing him swing a weapon heavier than him looked pathetic.
IMO, the one big screw up was the spear vs naginata. The naginata did no damage to the spartan shield, but the weapon was in tact. The spear head was damaged when trying to pierce the samurai armor. They called it even, when the advantage should've gone to the samurai.

What about the ordinary British squaddie? A very few thousand of them spread out over millions of square miles managed to keep 400 million people peaceful for over a century.For all his victories, Napoloeon's forces never beat them in battle either.

I do not take the victories to heart at all for the most part. I watch this show to learn more about fighting warrior's weaponry and their combat history more than anything else. It is awesome they show the power behind the weapons.
As for victories. Well it depends on the willingness to win on each side. One can have the best weaponry in the world but in the end it all comes down to the motivation and desire to win.
Also the results seem to be head to head with statistics that come down to two, three folks working the weaponry with technology comparing numbers and data.

Well, I loved the season premiere. This is really one of my fav shows. I thought GSG9 would beat SWAT. But, after watching the show I had to change my mind.
to be honest, that was a bullshit ending. SWAT, while being the elite of US police forces in major cities is really just made up of beat cops who train and train both on and off the job.
GSG9 is like the german Delta Force. they are pretty much a military unit, in regards to their training and weaponry. i dont believe for a second that SF, LA, NY etc SWAT teams would hold their own on an evenly numbered squad to squad based combat scenario. and my dad was even on SWAT here in SF, so thats not easy to say for me
proof that this show is nonsensical & pointless.
